With the leaves falling and the weather getting cooler, spending the Fall in the Smokies is always a great idea! Keep reading to plan the perfect vacation!
Sightseeing in the Smokies
There’s nothing better than seeing the leaves change colors right here in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! Knowing exactly when the foliage is going to be at its most colorful is important when planning your trip. Luckily, we’re able to use the weather patterns to help predict when those Fall colors will be at their prime! Because we had a wet summer and a relatively calm Autumn so far, it’s predicted that the leaves will begin changing around mid-October at the higher elevations, with the colors making their way down and possibly hanging around until mid-November!
While in Gatlinburg, be sure to visit the Sky Lift Park to experience a beautiful overview of the mountains. The Gatlinburg Space Needle is another great sightseeing spot in the city! Over in The Island in Pigeon Forge, there’s so many fun attractions for everybody in the family, including the Ferris Wheel, Alcatraz Museum, and an Escape Game! Whether you’re out in nature exploring the trails and mountains or seeing the city, the Smokies is your go-to destination for all the fun!
