I feel a Celebration coming!
Don’t miss the 28th annual Smoky Mountain Winterfest celebration, November 6th, 2017 through February 28th, 2018. Your three favorite cities in the Smokies will be filled with bright Christmas lights, really celebrating the joy of the holidays.
Lights stretched out from Sevierville through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Enjoy a stroll down the Parkway, finding incredible Instagram worthy pictures! Or grab a map from the visitors’ center and explore all the adventures and sites the Smokies has to offer.
There are several great places you don’t want to miss stopping at, like the drive through the bridge at the Old Mill Historic District. You’ll want to stop at the Mill Bridge Winery and grab a seat on their outdoor patio which offers the best view of the twinkling lights around. Don’t worry about the cold weather, once you have a few sips of their spiced hard cider, served warm, you’ll feel very comfortable!
The Gatlinburg Chili Cook-Off is another great event you don’t want to miss!
Gatlinburg’s big kick off on November 8th includes a Chili cook-off contest between local attractions, restaurants, businesses, charities, and other public service groups. Tickets are only $10 and you will get to try all the different varieties of Chili. Just remember to save room for everyone’s favorite local distillery, Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery. They’ve got great new fall flavors like Apple Pie and Buckeye, a chocolate peanut butter combo.
