Whose got the best Muscadine Wine?
The wineries along the Rocky Top Wine Trail are having a battle against one another! Each location carries a unique Muscadine product that tastes absolutely amazing. So the question is . . . . . out of the five Muscadine products whose is the best?
For the entire month of March, we are letting our wonderful tasters be the judge (that means you!). Come sample the different styles of Muscadine wine and a Muscadine hard cider. Pick up a voting bracket at your first location, check the ones you like and star the ones you love. Help us decide which is the best by voting for your favorite once you’ve tried them all! The following wines and cider have been selected:
+ Apple Barn Winery: Governor – a dry Muscadine wine that has been aged in French oak barrels
+ Hillside Winery: Muscadine Spumante- Muscadine grapes made into a fantastic sweet bubbly wine
+ Mill Bridge Winery: Mad Muscadine- White Muscadine grapes blended with Apple hard cider for a light refreshing carbonated drink
+ Mountain Valley Winery: Collier Reserve- a sweet red wine made from the finest red Muscadine selection
+ Sugarland Cellars: Martha Jane Rose- a blend of red and white Muscadine grapes. Is sure to have you whistling Dixie!
Muscadine In The South
In the south Muscadine grapes are very popular and also have many names like Muscadine, Bullace, Scuppernong, Southern Fox Grape, etc. Differing on which part of the south you are from. Muscadine grapes are delicious jumbo sized grapes. Enjoy them fresh off the vine or they even make delicious jelly and wine of course. Muscadine wine will differ each time you make a different batch. Depending on the region the Muscadine grapes come from, color, and taste will determine what the finished product will bring.
