Welcoming Our New Rocky Top Wine Club Team
2017 is not just a new year, but a year the Rocky Top Wine Trail made some major change. Closing Eagle Springs Winery and adding a new stop to the wine trail, Mill Bridge Winery. These changes lead to the wineries along the trail becoming a lot closer to one another for everyone to complete the trail within two days if not one. Another big change that occurred is those running the Rocky Top Wine Club!
The Rocky Top Wine Club
A club that receives shipments of Tennessee wines directly to them at a great discounted price. Anyone who is 21 and older and loves Tennessee wines should join. It is completely free to sign up and there are also other great discounts you can receive each time you visit The Great Smoky Mountains.
Two familiar friendly faces, David Elrod and Kimberly Schroeder, now operate the Rocky Top Wine Club. Creating new innovative ways to provide services to wine club members is their major goal for 2017.
David and Kimberly make an incredible team together. David has been with the Rocky Top Wine Trail for the past five years managing the shipping department. He is excellent with customer care and strives to perfect a hassle free, fast shipment time to all his customers!
Mr. Elrod, who was born in Tennessee, lived in many places of the world during his first 8 years with his father, who was in the Army, and mother, who was born and raised in Sevier Co. David, lived in places like Germany, Pennsylvania, and Kansas. Returning back to his mother’s hometown, David finished his school years in Sevier County. Once completing his high school years at Sevier County High School, David joined the US Marines.
He is a die-hard Vols fan and loves to participate in sports himself. Along with watching his kids and grandkids grow up he enjoys working with the wine club team. Being able to help customers and working with his co-workers who are very enthusiastic as he is about working with customers is very gratifying.
Kimberly, on the left, shares similar goals as David, working on updating the Rocky Top Wine Club. As many know her friendly face from Eagle Springs Winery, Kimberly has been with the Rocky Top Wine Trail for the past three years. She loves to help others in any way she can and is a great asset to Rocky Top Wine Club members. With the closing of Eagle Springs Winery, the wine club is very fortunate to have her by their side.
Kimberly is a hardworking girl and always has been. She grew up on a farm in New Market, close to Jefferson County. Raising cattle, driving a tractor at a very young age, and tossing hay bales are what a daily day at the farm looks like. Kimberly is very family oriented and always has been as she grew up working with four generations on the family farm.
Although Kimberly currently works with the Rocky Top Wine Club she still visits her parent’s house every Sunday with her adorable little boy! Sharing this experience with him is an excitement for Kimberly. Kimberly is also very passionate about helping others in any way. If anyone ever has any questions or concerns, she will jump through hoops to find an answer. With her motivation and hard-working skills, the members of the Rocky Top Wine Club will definitely appreciate her.
2017 Wine Club
With big projects planned for 2017, David and Kimberly have already started on making the shopping cart more accessible and easy to use. They are also working on making sure the website is mobile friendly. As more and more club members are switching to selecting club wines over their mobile devices, this will make ordering so much easier for everyone!
