New Winery Attraction
You already know The Great Smoky Mountains is a great place for you to get away with the family and friends. If you’re planning to visit this month get ready to see the amazing Fall colors in the mountains along with the many attractions that have been added to the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville area. This area has been growing so much and we, the Rocky Top Wine Trail, are proud to be part of that growth. When visiting the world famous Old Mill Historic District, at the four way of S. River Rd and the Old Mill Ave, you will notice a new winery that has been added. It’s called Old Mill Winery!
The Old Mill Winery is a satellite store for Hillside Winery, located on Collier Drive in Sevierville. A satellite store is a smaller tasting room for a larger production winery. The winery first opened up in early 2016 as a small wine gift shop and soon after became a winery in which you can taste and purchase wine. The winery absolutely gives off a different look and vibe compared to other wineries in the area. The outside view of the Pigeon River on the patio is amazing along with the area surrounding the winery. The Old Mill Winery is a great pit stop for anyone looking for a fresh taste of Smoky Mountain wine!
Have company that isn’t interested in wine?
It is okay if you have friends or family members that aren’t interested in wine (we don’t understand why that would be!).This new location has a great comforting urban atmosphere anyone can fall in love with. They not only serve & sell wine but also have on hand a unique beverage that none of the other wineries on the trail do. They carry hard cider!
Hard Cider is an alcoholic drink made from fermented crushed fruit, mostly apples. The carbonated drink comes in many varieties: fruity, sweet, or dry. The hard cider that is served at the new winery is a local craft hard cider, made for any pallet to enjoy. There are even a variety of flavors of hard cider to pick from at the Old Mill Winery, in Pigeon Forge. They have Cherry cider, Blueberry cider, and Southside Apple cider, which are more towards the sweet side. They are now working on bringing out a more traditional, rustic cider, called Farm House cider, which will most likely be available within a week or two!
The Old Mill Winery’s hard cider is made from the wine mash that was used from the wineries on the Rocky Top Wine Trail, meaning it is locally made so you’re still drinking local! This particular location is not yet on the wine trail yet but is still part of the same wine family you love. So don’t forget to make that turn on S. River Rd to try something you might fall in love with and start adding it to your regular trip to the Smokies!
